As the name suggests, a box-type substation is a station with an outdoor box and voltage conversion. Its main function is to convert voltage, centrally distribute electrical energy, control the flow of electrical energy, and regulate voltage. Typically, electricity transmission and distribution is generated by power plants. After the voltage is increased, it is sent to various cities through high-voltage lines, and then the voltage is reduced layer by layer to convert it into a voltage below 400V used by users. The voltage increase in the process is to save transmission costs and reduce losses. 10kv box-type substation, as the terminal equipment of the end user, can convert 10kv power supply into 400v low-voltage power supply and distribute it to all users. At present, there are three types of box-type substations, European-type box-type substations, American-type box-type substations, and buried box-type substations. 1. The European-style box changer is the closest to the civil electrical room. Basically, the traditional electrical room equipment is moved outdoors and an outdoor box is installed. Compared with traditional electric houses, European-style box-type transformers have the advantages of small footprint, low construction cost, short construction period, less on-site construction, and mobility, and are suitable for temporary electricity use on construction sites. 2. The American-style box-type transformer is an integrated box-type transformer. The high-voltage switch and the transformer are integrated. The low-voltage part is not a single low-voltage cabinet, but a whole. The functions of incoming lines, capacitors, metering, and outgoing lines are separated by partitions. American box change is smaller than European box change. 3. Buried box-type substations are relatively rare at present, mainly because of high cost, complicated manufacturing process and inconvenient maintenance. Buried box transformers are suitable for densely built and densely populated areas. Underground installation of box transformers can save floor space.
